"A lesser-known but historically interesting tower located on the eastern side of the Alhambra wall, its function was to reinforce the defenses ofthis area of the complex and provide visual communication with the nearby towers and the Generalife. Although not usually open to the public, its massive shape and integration with the landscape are appreciated from the outside. It's a good spot to stop during the Paseo de las Torres and enjoy the views toward the Darro Valley. Interestingly, it owes its name to a noble family who resided in Granada after the Christian conquest, when the tower became part of the new army's surveillance system...."
