Dajti Ekspres Cable Car
in Tirana
This cable car is a fun day out for the family and a great introduction to the city, taking you to the dramatic mountain on the eastern edge of Tirana by gondola.
The cable car spans a kilometre, making it the longest in the Balkans, and climbs up to the Dajti Mountain National Park to 1100 m.
The journey will take about 15 minutes from the heart of the city, and with a traditional wood restaurant and hotel which has a rotating bar at the top. The view of the city will be memorable, of course, but there are also year-round activities on the table, including summer trekking and horseback riding, and winter skiing.
To get to the starting point of the Dajti Express, take the public bus to Porcelan (40 lekë) from outside the clock tower of Tirana. It’s a 1.5 km uphill walk from here, or you can expect a free bus transfer (departures every 30 minutes, five minutes). Taxis seem to charge the drop-off point at the Dajti Express, but Tirana’s trip should cost only 600 lekës.
