"What can one say about this place other then that it is well worth the effort getting up the steep hill. It is a great setting and easy to get to. Itis a really nice walk up to the ruin and takes you back in time once you get to the top. Nearby is also the so called Jungfernsprung which is a wonderful place to take in the views of the valley. There is a Tavern in the ruins and what a fab place this is. You get some basic food all cooked on an old stove just like they used to. Wish there where more places like this good old fashion no mod cons just the way it was many years ago. Also the surrounding woodland invites you to explore the area a bit further and makes this a very enjoyable place to visit...."

"One of very few castle ruins in Austria to be open in winter, it is only a short bus journey from the centre of Graz. The hike is pretty steep, butnot too long. The ruin itself is small but cosy, with a small cafe inside, and there are (at least) three identical cats strolling around...."

"This hike is well worth the bus ride out to Göstung and provides beautiful views over Graz. The trail is very steep going up, but you'll be rewardedby the short time you need to get to the top (about an hour, depending on your fitness level). If you are lucky the cafe at the top of the slope (built into the ruins) will be open and you can have a nice drink and enjoy the scenery. It is also lovely to go in the autumn when the leaves are changing...."
