Salthill Promenade is one of Galway’s most iconic locations, stretching approximately two miles along the coastline of Galway Bay from Claddagh Quay to the Blackrock diving board. Both locals and tourists frequently enjoy strolling along this scenic path.

The promenade boasts a host of attractions, including Salthill Beach, which consists of several smaller beaches divided by rocky outcrops. Here, visitors can swim, stroll, or simply relax on the pebbled shore.

A significant highlight along the promenade is the Circle of Life National Organ Donor Commemorative Garden. Located within Quincentennial Park, this beautifully sculpted stone garden pays tribute to organ donors nationwide.

Additional attractions along the promenade include Curry’s Fun Park, Leisureland, Salthill Public Park, and the Galway Atlantaquaria. The midpoint of the Wild Atlantic Way, located here, is a favorite spot for photography enthusiasts. A local tradition involves kicking the wall adjacent to the Blackrock diving board at the promenade’s end.

While the promenade offers various dining and shopping options near its attractions, the most cherished activities for visitors tend to be sightseeing and enjoying the landscape. The Salthill Promenade provides stunning views across the bay to the Burren hills and is an ideal spot for watching sunsets, comfortably seated on one of the many benches lining the route.
