Reviews Summary

Miradouro do Núcleo de Casas Típicas in Santana sits in a small, colorful square surrounded by 4–5 traditional thatched houses set amid a garden; it's a pleasant spot for a short stroll where some houses are open to show local products or services and the town hall is nearby. The viewpoint looks out over green fields, the town and north toward the Atlantic—on clear days Porto Santo can be seen—and visitors note the houses range from well preserved thatched examples to renovated versions, with several similar inhabited casas típicas to explore throughout the town.

"Surrounded by a colorful garden and picturesque typical Santana houses, this viewpoint offers a nice view over the green fields and the city ofSantana and down to the Atlantic Ocean. On clear days you are able to see the islands of Porto Santo on the horizon...."

"You're in the heart of the typical houses, but there are plenty more in the city, and it would be a shame to stop here! Some have kept their thatchedroofs, while others have been renovated in a less typical way. Would you like to see other typical thatched houses? Look for several inhabited casas típicas in the city, and you might find some new ones! I've included some photos of the houses to discover in the city using the markers I've placed on the map: happy treasure hunting!..."
