Somalia, is the easternmost country of Africa, on the Horn of Africa. It has land borders to its south-west with Kenya, its west with Ethiopia and, its north west Djibouti. Its north coast looks over the Gulf of Aden and the east on the Indian Ocean.

A dry and hot country its landscapes are mainly thorn-bush savanna and semi-desert. It has the longest coastline in Africa, and as such, has many beaches.

The State of Somalia sprouted from the merger between the Italians to the south and British colonies in the north.

Most authorities advise against travel to Somalia, so visitors will have to wait before being able to see its ancient historical sites, enjoy its rich and varied cuisine or trek across its arid mountains.
