Libya Travel Guide

Located in North Africa it is bordered to the east by Egypt, to the south Sudan and Niger and, the west Tunisia and Algeria. Its north coastline looks out over the Gulf of Sidra and the Mediterranean sea.

Most of the country is taken up by the Sahara desert, while most of its population is concentrated along it northern coast which enjoys a more, milder Mediterranean climate.

The main Libya attractions include Roman and Greek ruins and Islamic mosques, but excursions into the Sahara provide an alternative for those wishing to get out of the urban sprawl and see sand seas, rolling dunes, and lively caravan towns.
