Welcome to Bequia

Bequia is a small 7 square-mile island 9 miles to the south of St Vincent easiest accessed by a frequent one-hour ferry service from Kingstown; it is very tourist orientated with a substantial number of visitors who return very year to spend the winter months in comfort often in rented apartments along one of the two main beaches, the most popular being Lower Bay. The largest village, Port Elizabeth, located at the head of Admiralty Bay offers an eclectic selection of bars and restaurants ranging from basic Caribbean through to (almost) International, with the same applying to the range of guest houses and hotels, the most famous being the Frangipani, home of the past Prime Minister, the RightHon Sir James Mitchell, who hosts the very popular weekly ‘jump-up’ there, each Thursday evening. Chartering a boat to tour the other nearby islands, especially the Tobago Cays is very popular. There are also many excellent snorkeling and dive sites around Bequia as well as throughout the islands.
