Venezuela, country located on the northern coast of South America. It has land borders to the east with Guyana, to the south with Brazil, to the south-west and west with Colombia. Venezuela’s north coast looks over the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

The country has Maracaibo lowlands in the north-west and in the vast grass-covered plains in central Venezuela and great forest areas in the south and south-east. The two areas are separated by the northern mountains. In the south-east are the Guiana Highlands separating the country from Brazil.
