Hey! We’re Moira & Andy, the pair behind Nomad Travel Guide — your friendly travel guide to the world! Our goal is to help you discover amazing destinations and plan the perfect adventure, one journey at a time.
Since retiring in 2020, we’ve explored everywhere from hiking the Camino de Santiago to road-tripping across Europe in Bert, our trusty campervan, and travelling further afield through the USA, Southeast Asia, and Japan.
Andrew dives deep into research before every trip, making sure we uncover hidden gems and local favourites, while Moira brings the enthusiasm (and usually keeps spirits high when things don’t go to plan!).
Nomad Travel Guide focuses on places we’ve personally visited — or soon will — so it’s never a vanity project, but a genuine collection of experiences from the road.
Moira spent over 40 years as a nurse, and Andy has been a web developer since founding his own company back in 1999. We now balance life on the road with our home base in Cardiff, where our two grown-up sons live nearby — and yes, we still like to see them once in a while!
Occasionally, our well-travelled family joins in as guest bloggers. Between us, we’ve lived in the UK, Spain, Gibraltar, the USA, Malaysia, Australia, and the Caribbean, and travelled by plane, sailing yacht, motorhome, and campervan.
As my father’s son, I try to focus on good value travel — not necessarily cheap, but about getting the most from what you spend and the trip you plan.
